Michele M. Smith, MSN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of orthopedic experience. Known for her clinical expertise and compassionate approach, Michele provides care to patients of all ages with a focus on holistic evaluation and individualized treatment.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Bible and Nursing through Johnson Bible College and East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Following her graduation, she gained valuable nursing experience in oncology, intensive care, and emergency medicine. Michele later completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Indiana University in Indianapolis.
Her early career included teaching senior nursing students and leading patient and staff education initiatives in orthopedic care settings. Today, she brings that same passion for education and patient-centered care to her clinical practice.
Michele specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Her scope includes non-operative arthritis care, surgical assistance, hospital rounding, and comprehensive pre- and post-operative orthopedic care. She finds fulfillment in improving her patients’ quality of life and helping them understand their orthopedic conditions and treatment options.
Michele currently practices alongside Dr. Madhu Rao at iSpine Ortho & Sports Care in Mishawaka.
